Punjab Forensic Science Authority Jobs 2026 – 37 Posts, Apply Online by 18 October

If you have a science background and you have always wanted your work to matter in the real world, this is one of the more interesting openings of the season. The Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA), working under the Home Department, Government of the Punjab, has announced 37 contract positions across 17 categories — from Additional Director General down to Junior Forensic Scientists in a long list of specializations. These are open-merit posts, initially for three years and renewable, and the last date to apply is 18 October 2026.

What positions are available?

The bulk of the hiring is at two levels. Forensic Scientists are being hired in specializations including DNA/Serology, Toxicology, Pathology, Narcotics, Firearms, Questioned Documents, Computer Forensics, Crime Scene Investigation and more, with one to six posts per field. Below them, Junior Forensic Scientists are being recruited in the same disciplines with one to four posts each. At the top, there are single posts for Additional Director General, Director Forensic, and Manager Pathology & Histology. In total, the advertisement covers 37 vacancies.

Who can apply?

You need a Punjab domicile. The educational requirement depends on the post: PhD, MS, M.Phil or MBBS in the relevant forensic discipline (Chemistry, Physics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Pathology, Clinical Psychology, Computer Science and related fields) from an HEC-recognized institution. Senior posts expect three to seven years of experience in an accredited forensic laboratory. Age limits vary — Junior Forensic Scientists must be 23 to 35 years old, Forensic Scientists 28 to 35, and senior posts go up to 55 years. One practical note from the advertisement itself: the Crime & Death Scene Investigation posts are restricted to male candidates, which makes sense given the field duties involved.

How to apply

Applications are online only, through the Information Technology University (ITU) job portal. There is an application processing fee of Rs. 2,000 payable via PSID. You can view the complete advertisement on the PFSA website (pfsa.punjab.gov.pk) and on the Punjab jobs portal (jobs.punjab.gov.pk), which is where the advertisement directs you to the application process.

My honest take

Forensic science is a small, specialized field in Pakistan, and openings like this do not come around every month. If your degree and lab experience match even one of these specializations, do not sit on it — the 18 October deadline is close, and the Rs. 2,000 fee means you should read the eligibility criteria twice before paying. Apply only through the official portal linked above; no agent or middleman can get you shortlisted.
