If you work in information security, read this one today — the deadline is the closest of all the openings on this page. The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is staffing up the Cyber Security for Digital Pakistan program and the National CERT in Islamabad, on a contract basis, and applications close on 12 October 2026 through the National Job Portal.
Positions available
Fourteen positions are listed, and they read like the org chart of a real security operations center: Director FCERT, Deputy Director SOC, Deputy Director Integration, Incident Responder, Assistant Director Integration, SIEM Engineer, SOC Analysts at L1, L2 and L3 levels, Database Administrator, Network Engineer, plus support roles including DDO Accounts/Finance, Procurement Officer/Specialist and Office Assistant. SOC Analyst and SIEM roles at multiple levels mean both mid-career analysts and senior engineers have a shot here.
Who can apply?
The advertisement asks for a Master’s or Bachelor’s qualification with five years of experience in the relevant discipline, with an age range of 30 to 50 years. The advertisement does not state the exact number of vacancies per title, so apply against the role that matches your experience rather than guessing numbers.
How to apply
Submit online at www.njp.gov.pk. The Ministry’s website is www.moitt.gov.pk. Given the 12 October deadline, do not leave your profile half-filled — complete and submit it in one sitting.
My honest take
National-level cyber security hiring is the clearest sign of where government IT is heading, and contract or not, NCERT experience looks serious on any security professional’s record. The practical advice: be specific in your application. “SIEM Engineer” panels want to know which platforms you have actually run — name the tools, the environments, and the incidents you have handled. Vague claims get vague results.
